Painting Monolithic House
The owners felt the time had come for a repaint of their monolithic house. Before we began our work, there were a few issues that needed tending to. By preparing a job properly, we ensure the job runs smoothly, takes less time and delivers a paint job that will go the distance. There were a few issues such as rusty flashings which needed to be sorted out and a vine which needed to be cut back. It is recommended that vines are kept away from monolithic texture as they can cause significant damage to the texture.
Choosing the Right Paint
However, the main issue was colour! What to do with aluminium joinery and gutter fascias in a very strong blue. The aluminium joinery couldn’t be changed, however, a colour for the gutter fascias recommended by Resene has made all the difference, teamed with a lovely white and the blue chosen and painted by the owners on the front door and garage door. As the house was a monolithic texture cladding we recommended using Resene X-200 weathertight membrane. They chose Resene Black White for the texture and the gutter fascias are Quarter Baltic Sea.
